Increase online sales from Facebook

Support for customers to sell more products online.

Many businesses have turned to online commerce solutions to find new ways to increase product sales, help customers to sell more products directly through Facebook apps or on their website.

1. Add a catalog and set up an online store.

Adding a product catalog is the first step to increasing online sales for your customers. This move opens the door to Facebook and Instagram Shops, and lets you showcase the most relevant products in ads across Facebook apps and services.

- Create directory:

A catalog is a container with information about every item that you want to promote or sell on Facebook and Instagram. To promote your items, you can connect your catalog to a variety of ads and sales channels, including dynamic ads, Facebook Shops, and more.

- Set up shop on Facebook and Instagram:

With Facebook Shops, you can display and sell products on Facebook and Instagram. People who visit your store can browse products, make purchases, and learn about your brand. You can create a store in Commerce Manager, a platform for managing your supply lists and sales on Facebook and Instagram.

2.  Choose the type of advertising that suits the needs of the customer.

From relevant product ads to event ads to upcoming shows, Facebook has a variety of ad types and ad objectives to connect your customers' products/services with people who love them.

- Create dynamic ads:

With dynamic ads, you can create automated ad templates using images and details from your catalog. This means you don't have to create separate ads for each product.

You can create dynamic ads in the gallery, single image, or carousel formats. When you create dynamic ads, you can use a variety of creative options (like overlays and offers) to encourage people to take action on your ads. If you enable dynamic content attribution, you'll automatically run dynamic ads.

- Create event ads in Ads Manager:

First, you need to create a Facebook event. You can then create event ads on your Facebook Page or through Ads Manager. You must be a Page admin or have advertiser permissions for the Page hosting or co-hosting the event to run ads.

3. Choose the right audience for the ad.

Your customers will see the biggest sales growth when your ads reach the people most likely to buy. You can use the Facebook pixel, the SDK, or the list of people who have visited your customer's physical store to create a Custom Audience. You can also use lookalike audiences to reach people who are similar to your customers' best buyers.

- Use Custom Audiences from customer lists:

The customer list can be a CSV or TXT file, which includes the above identification information. For the best match rates, use as much identifiers as possible while still following our formatting guidelines. You can hover over the identifiers to show the correct column headers and formatting rules. For example, first name will display as fn as the column header in the list.

Alternatively, you can download a file template to make it easier for our system to match your identifying information. (You can also upload from Mailchimp.)

- Create lookalike audience:

Lookalike Audiences are a way for you to reach new people who are more likely to be interested in your business because they are similar to your best customers.

First, make sure you're an admin of the Page or pixel that you use to create your audience. To create a Lookalike Audience from a Custom Audience, you need to have the Admin or Advertiser role on the ad account.

If you're an Admin or Developer of an app, you can create a lookalike audience for that app, in addition to any other apps you've shared with this ad account.

4. Test ads and measure results.

Facebook's measurement tool shows how effective your ads. With analytics, A/B testing, and attribution reporting, you can see the impact your ads are having on purchasing decisions and improve your strategy for future campaigns.
